Amir Sheibany, working at UBS Group Management
- Zurich in the Information Systems Infrastructure Department, as part of
the 10 man International Notes Competence Center (3rd level support). Working
along side one other, as Domino (web) specialist at UBS.
1.) Global Notes Applications Coordinator (30%):
Ensuring regional Notes Apps., that are to go global, conform to UBS standards and are compatible with Notes 4. Then coordinating the implementation by 2nd level support/Admin. people. (These tend to be very large Notes Apps. which are quite complex and took one year + to develop by business units/Externals.)
2.) Application Developer/Consultant for Group Management (50%):
Example: Creating electronic book, securely available on the web, of specifications for a big software project involving a team of application developers all over the world. Forms can be created in this application for asking questions about contents of documents in the book and routing this to an Issues Log database where it gets allocated to appropriate specialist, routed through an approval process including look-ups into a knowledge base already available, and many e-mail notifications being sent at different stages of the process to different persons. This application will use every security feature available with Domino 4.52b . Current specification requires access from Notes also. Trying to convince the client to go browser only. Will be first user of Ives Team Studio at UBS on this project.
3.) Technology Leadership / System Integration (20%):
Evaluating new products with bias towards Internet related Document Management and Calendaring and Scheduling. This involves being a beta tester of products attending LotusVision and business partner updates and ultimately making a concept paper for deployment and integration into the bank infrastructure. i.e. products such as Lextyle Publisher 2 for publishing word docs. to the web. I am project managing Domino.Doc v1.0 at UBS at the moment. Also specialist in Native Notes 4.6 C&S with Organizer 97 GS, and providing corporate access from Netscape 4.01a, and Psion5 / USR PalmPilot. Will look at Notes Global Designer next. If I don't get involved in a NotesPump project will do so privately as soon as version 2.5 comes out with real-time features)
Finally, I have some experience of QuarkXpress and Photoshop as Corporate Communications Manager at another company some years back, this skill comes in handy in Web Application Development, as does my knowledge of FrontPage and Dreamweaver.
